It has some to our knowledge that on 16 July 2003 NOIDA police, in violation of Supreme Court norms, illegally detained, tortured and humiliated journalists and other persons associated with the worker’s newspaper, Bigul. With this memorandum we urge you to issue instructions that action be taken against erring police persons to discourage the recurrence of such incidents.
