Jahangirpuri in northwest Delhi came into the headlines when an outbreak of communal violence took place in the course of a confrontation between some Hindus and Muslims during a Hanuman Jayanti procession on 16 April 2022. Two FIRs (nos. 440 and 441 of 2022, Jahangirpuri PS) were filed. The investigation in FIR 440 was transferred to Crime Branch, and several persons were arrested in the course of investigations under this.

PUDR strongly condemns the violence unleashed by right-wing hoodlums inside Jawaharlal Nehru University campus on the evening of 5 January 2019. A group of around 100 masked goons carrying rods, hammers, canes/lathis among other weapons barged into the closed campus in the evening and violently assaulted students and professors. Doctors at AIIMS Trauma Centre have confirmed to PUDR that thirty-four students with injuries caused by sharp/blunt weapons were treated. The JNUSU President Aishe Ghosh also received severe injuries on the head.

In March 2019, the NIA Special Court, Panchkula delivered the verdict in the Samjhauta Blast Case of 2007, which had killed 67 and injured 13 passengers, mostly Pakistani citizens, aboard the Attari Express near Panipat.
