The plight of badam (almond) worker in a remote corner of North-east Delhi, bustling colony of Karawal Nagar, a growing hub of informal businesses, employing large number of migrant workers and their families.Through this report PUDR raises some of the issues related to the work that it could capture through fact-finding, realizing that much will still be untold. In focusing on the conditions of workers in the almond industry, the report seeks to highlight the extremely exploitative and precarious nature of employment in the informal sector in general which constitutes nearly 94 percent of the total work force of the country .
