This report published in 1993 is a fact finding undertaken by PUDR on a custodial death in Kanjhawala police station - a ploce station with the second lowest crime rate in delhi.

On 16 August 1993 a robbery took place at Ashok Vihar. Vinod was picked up by the police and taken to Basant Gaon. While returning back, police claim that Vinod snatched police revolver and shot himeself He was taken to AIIMS, where he remained unconcious for 18 days and then died. PUDR investigated the case and fond inconsistencies in the police story.

First introduced in May 1985, TADA was meant to be a temporary measure for two years.

 On 3rd March 1993 many national dailies reported the death of 35 year old Satyavan, resident of village Jharoda Kalan, Najafgarh, in police custody. PUDR sent a fact finding team that met family members, the villagers, the new SHO Najafgarh police station, the SDM (Punjabi Bagh) and the DCP (South-West). Following is the report. 

 Ashok, 22 yers old, belongiong to notorous Bawaria Tribe was picked up from his home by the Jahangirpuri police station on 9 February along with six other relatives, including his mother and sister Vimla.They were subjected to severe torture. Ashok and others were shifted to Sukrali police station on February 22 where they were again subjected to torture.
